Gomal University’s Acting Vice-Chancellor Dr. Masroor Ellahi Babar will hold a meeting with syndicate members today. The development comes after the Acting Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Mushtaq Ahmed Ghani, sent the VC on a forced leave.
Legal experts have deemed this meeting in violation of the verdict and stated that those involved will be guilty of contempt of court. Acting VC has already transferred GU’s two professors, two associate professors, 20 assistant professors, 30 lecturers, 10 laboratory assistants, and a number of clerks and security guards to the proposed Agriculture University.
Note that the decision to send VC Ahmad on a vacation was reportedly taken at the behest of former Federal Minister, Ali Amin Gandapur, who allegedly threatened him and called for his immediate resignation or forced removal, as he was against the distribution move.
